The number of shipped PS5 units has exceeded 41.7 million

In its financial report for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2023, Sony announced that over 41.7 million units of PlayStation 5 were shipped worldwide.

Within just three months, ending on June 30, 2023, a total of 3.3 million PlayStation 5 units were dispatched, marking an increase of 0.9 million compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Additional statistical data includes:

• As of June 30, 2023, the number of monthly active users on the PlayStation Network reached 108 million, which is five million more than the 103 million active users during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
• Over the three months ending on June 30, 2023, a combined total of 56.5 million units of software for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 were sold, reflecting a rise of 9.3 million units from the 47.2 million software units sold during the same period in the previous fiscal year. Among these, 6.6 million units were first-person games, matching the amount sold in the same period of the previous fiscal year. Approximately 72 percent of software sales were attributed to full-game digital downloads, which is a decrease of seven percent compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
