Fortnite x Metallica Crossover: Epic Games Boosts XP for All Players

Epic Games is offering Fortnite players a temporary boost to their XP gain in celebration of a new crossover event with the legendary rock band Metallica. Launched on June 13, this crossover introduces a range of activities and cosmetic upgrades inspired by Metallica and its members.

Fortnite has evolved into a hub for pop culture crossovers, featuring collaborations with various brands and celebrities over the years. From early collaborations like Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, Fortnite has advanced to treating these events with the significance of real-life celebrations, often involving live participation from renowned personalities. The Fortnite x Metallica event will include a live in-game concert scheduled for June 22, 2024, mirroring the trend of musical acts making appearances within the game.

For players who may not be fans of Metallica, Epic Games still offers something valuable. The official Fortnite Status Twitter account announced that all players would receive a Supercharged XP bonus. This temporary boost significantly increases the XP gained from almost all in-game activities, helping players progress through their Battle Pass levels more rapidly. Normally, if opening a chest grants 100 XP, doing so with the Supercharged bonus will award 400 XP, providing a 400% increase.

Supercharged XP is activated by Epic Games during special events or given to players who have been inactive for several days to help them catch up. This bonus aids in efficiently progressing through Battle Pass tiers, which unlock rewards like V-Bucks, new cosmetics, and even future Battle Passes, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
